Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee underwriting and credit operations for digital lending and ecosystem partnerships. This involves performing lending analysis, recommending credit decisions, managing risk exposure, and developing insights through business intelligence tools. The role is essential in ensuring effective portfolio management, optimal financial performance, and compliance with regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Analytics

  • Evaluate credit risk proposals and make strategic recommendations aligned with risk appetite and business goals.
  • Create and maintain business intelligence dashboards for real-time decision-making and portfolio monitoring.
  • Develop financial models to assess product profitability, predict performance, and generate scenario-based reports.
  • Design cost-benefit analyses to support strategic business initiatives and enhance revenue optimization.

2. Lending Operations

  • Lead lending operations, including debt recovery, fund management, and reconciliation for digital product portfolios.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver seamless product experiences and manage operational processes.
  • Analyze portfolio performance by reviewing daily and monthly reports to identify data trends and patterns.
  • Improve credit performance outcomes using advanced data analytics and predictive modeling.

3. Strategic Risk Management

  • Define risk tolerance thresholds and ensure compliance with established Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Develop portfolio management covenants and performance targets in collaboration with ecosystem partners.
  • Monitor covenant adherence and account behavior to ensure risk is maintained within acceptable limits.
  • Recommend adjustments to lending strategies to align with evolving business and risk environments.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Partner with business teams to optimize customer experience across digital lending platforms.
  • Deliver analytical insights during periodic reviews with partners to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support customer-centric collection and recovery initiatives within the credit lifecycle management framework.

5. Internal Processes & Governance

  • Define a structured framework for credit risk assessment across digital ecosystems.
  • Recommend and support new lending initiatives through robust data-driven credit strategies.
  • Evaluate new data sources and assess their relevance and reliability for risk analysis.
  • Ensure credit models and partner frameworks align with internal policy and risk parameters.
  • Collaborate with internal departments like Finance and Credit Risk to ensure operational excellence.

6. Team Leadership and Operational Excellence

  • Assist the Head of Unit in coaching and mentoring team members to optimize productivity.
  • Promote efficiency and continuous improvement within the team’s operations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, high performance, and proactive credit risk management.
  • Design adaptive team structures that align with business goals and digital transformation initiatives.

Job Specifications

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related discipline.

Professional Qualifications

Work Experience

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
