Key Responsibilities

Cloud Platform Strategy and Vision

  • Develop and implement a robust and forward-looking strategy for the design, deployment, and optimization of the organization’s cloud platforms.
  • Ensure alignment of cloud architecture with organizational IT goals and long-term business objectives.

Cloud Architecture and Design

  • Oversee the comprehensive architecture of cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance for mission-critical applications.
  • Lead the development of cloud-native solutions that support the rapid growth and agility of the organization.

Platform Management and Optimization

  • Drive high availability, security, and cost-efficiency across cloud platforms.
  • Continuously identify and implement cloud optimization and automation initiatives.

Cloud Operations and Governance

  • Develop and enforce governance frameworks and best practices for cloud platform management.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery standards.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of cloud engineers, architects, and platform experts.
  • Cultivate an innovative and collaborative team environment focused on excellence and continuous learning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, data, security, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions into business processes.
  • Promote DevOps, CI/CD, and microservices as foundational components of the platform.

Cloud Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with cloud service providers such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Negotiate service contracts, monitor SLAs, and ensure optimal vendor performance.

Budget and Cost Management

  • Own cloud platform financials, including budget planning, forecasting, and expenditure oversight.
  • Implement best practices for cloud cost optimization without compromising on performance.

Innovation and Future Planning

  • Stay abreast of evolving cloud technologies and industry trends.
  • Lead adoption of new tools and practices that enhance platform efficiency and business outcomes.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure certifications) or a Master’s degree are highly desirable.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years in a senior cloud leadership role.
  • Proven success in designing and managing enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
  • In-depth expertise in AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, DevOps methodologies, microservices, and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Experience managing cloud performance and cost optimization strategies.
  • Proficient in cloud security, compliance, and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional, agile teams in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
