In line with its mission to provide quality teaching services and strengthen leadership within Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), the Commission seeks to fill critical vacancies in senior teaching and management roles. Job Description:
The Senior Principal in a Teacher Training College (TTC) will provide overall institutional leadership, management, and direction. The officer will be responsible for setting a high standard of professional excellence and guiding the academic and administrative functions of the institution. The Senior Principal will be charged with ensuring the implementation of national education policies, the promotion of discipline among staff and trainees, and the advancement of professional teaching standards within the college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer strategic leadership and effective administrative control over the Teacher Training College.
- Oversee the implementation of approved educational and training programs aligned with the Commission’s guidelines.
- Ensure quality assurance standards are maintained throughout academic and co-curricular activities.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of teaching and non-teaching staff within the college.
- Monitor curriculum implementation and institutional performance appraisal processes.
- Foster an environment conducive to professional development and mentorship of junior staff.
- Promote efficient utilization of institutional resources and ensure transparency in management.
- Coordinate the development and review of institutional improvement plans and strategic objectives.
- Serve as the link between the Commission and the TTC community, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements for Appointment:
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Senior Principal (TTC), an applicant must:
- Have served as Principal/ Deputy Principal I, T-Scale 13 for a minimum period of six (6) months.
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Have demonstrated the ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.
- Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
2. Senior Lecturer IV (TTC) – T-Scale 9

Job Description:
The Senior Lecturer IV in a Teacher Training College (TTC) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality teacher education and training services. The position involves guiding trainees through academic content and instructional practices, contributing to curriculum development, and providing mentorship and leadership within departments or faculties. The Senior Lecturer will be instrumental in nurturing the next generation of teachers and promoting educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and train prospective teachers in pedagogical and subject content areas in line with TTC curriculum requirements.
- Design, prepare, and deliver academic lectures, assignments, and assessments to trainees.
- Participate in the development and review of college curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment tools.
- Carry out research and engage in scholarly activities to improve instructional practices.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to trainees, helping them understand both academic content and professional responsibilities.
- Support institutional activities such as seminars, workshops, symposia, and continuous professional development.
- Supervise trainee research and project work, ensuring alignment with national teacher training standards.
- Participate in the appraisal of academic staff and provision of professional support to colleagues.

Requirements for Appointment:
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Senior Lecturer IV (TTC), an applicant must:
- Have served as Lecturer I, T-Scale 8 or its equivalent for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Have demonstrated the ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.
- Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
