Purpose of the Role
As the Regional Sales Coordinator – Coast, your primary responsibility will be to lead the sales and distribution operations in the region. You will drive sales growth, implement effective sales strategies, expand market share, and strengthen relationships with key customers and distributors.
This role is pivotal in achieving Highlands’ business goals in the Coast region and in ensuring optimal market penetration for our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with Highlands’ national objectives.
- Set ambitious yet achievable regional sales targets.
- Monitor and assess regional sales performance, customer feedback, and competitor trends to identify and exploit growth opportunities.
2. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead a high-performing team of Sales Execution Leads.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate sales staff to maximize team productivity and cohesion.
- Instill a results-oriented culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
3. Customer and Distributor Management
- Establish and sustain strong relationships with key customers and regional distributors.
- Handle negotiations, resolve customer concerns, and open new direct accounts.
- Collaborate with distributors to design and optimize Route-to-Market strategies, focusing on pricing and delivery efficiency.
4. Market Development and Expansion
- Identify untapped business opportunities and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Partner with marketing teams to roll out impactful promotions and campaigns in the region.
- Ensure high visibility and availability of products across all retail and distribution channels.
5. Operational Excellence
- Allocate resources efficiently across territories, budgets, and promotional materials.
- Oversee merchandising standards and regional promotional activities.
- Maintain compliance with corporate policies, ethical practices, and regulatory requirements.
6. Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular sales reports and business insights on regional performance, trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to continuously refine sales strategies and tactics.

- Deliver timely and accurate insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Translate analytics into actionable strategies embraced by key stakeholders.

- Drive innovation through reporting automation and identification of potential performance risks.
- Develop and mentor a results-driven analytics and sales team to ensure sustainable long-term growth.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ experience in sales management, ideally within the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Proven team leadership and coaching abilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and sales tracking software.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region.
