Purpose of the Role
The Business Performance Analyst will be responsible for delivering actionable insights through data analysis, aimed at enhancing business performance and driving growth. The role requires a structured problem-solving approach, with an in-depth understanding of both data analytics and business operations.
This is a strategic position tasked with giving the company visibility into past, present, and future performance through timely and reliable information. The ideal candidate will serve as a performance advisor across departments and drive decision-making processes using insightful, data-backed intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Apply statistical techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and outliers.
- Convert complex datasets into insightful dashboards and performance metrics.
2. Strategic Business Intelligence
- Translate organizational needs into analytic models and frameworks.
- Deliver benchmark data and comparative analysis to support proactive decisions.
3. Predictive Modeling & Forecasting
- Build forecasting models that align with business planning.
- Integrate internal and external data to anticipate outcomes and develop scenario-based projections.
4. Performance Management & Reporting
- Establish and monitor KPIs consistent with strategic goals.
- Drive performance review processes and produce regular business insight reports.
5. Decision Support & Business Case Development
- Analyze the impact of new investments and operational changes.
- Construct comprehensive business cases including ROI estimates and risk mitigation strategies.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with key departments like Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Act as a business partner to support strategic and operational planning.
7. Risk Management
- Monitor and assess operational risks using data.
- Guide business continuity planning with risk models and forecasting tools.
8. Data Governance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure high standards in data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
- Work with data and IT teams to optimize automation and data systems.
9. Strategy Execution Support
- Track progress of strategic initiatives and validate alignment with company goals.
- Deliver reports and visual presentations to support leadership oversight.
10. Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting
- Provide data-informed inputs during annual budget cycles and forecasts.
- Build financial models reflecting business drivers and future variables.
11. People Leadership & Capability Building
- Manage a team of analysts and foster a performance-driven culture.
- Promote skill development, succession planning, and internal capability building.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Deliver timely and accurate business reports and dashboards.
- Provide actionable insights adopted across departments to unlock growth.
- Maintain predictive models for planning and financial forecasting.
- Lead regular business performance reviews and ensure KPI visibility.
- Automate reporting tools and highlight performance risks.
- Develop and support a high-performance analytics team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Business Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in an analytical or strategic role.
- Strong business acumen and operational understanding.
- Advanced analytical skills in data modeling, visualization, and interpretation.
- High proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Programming knowledge in Python or R for data analysis.
- Professional certifications are an added advantage.
