1. Safety Officer (Full-time)

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

As the Safety Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of comprehensive health and safety policies across all Amref Health Africa facilities. This role supports the creation of a safe working environment by enforcing guidelines, conducting regular audits, training staff, and coordinating with stakeholders to prevent hazards and manage risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety systems and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to identify causes and recommend improvements.
  • Organize safety training sessions for staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, and safety-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.

2. Quality Officer (Full-time)

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

As the Quality Officer, you will support the organization’s goal of delivering high-impact programs by promoting and ensuring quality standards in all operations and project implementation. You will monitor, evaluate, and improve organizational and project-level performance in alignment with quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks across programs.
  • Monitor service delivery and ensure adherence to quality guidelines.
  • Conduct internal audits and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate training and capacity building on quality standards.
  • Coordinate quality improvement initiatives and continuous assessment.

3. Cafeteria Manager (Re-advertisement, Full-time)

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

The Cafeteria Manager will oversee all aspects of cafeteria operations, ensuring the provision of healthy, cost-effective, and high-quality meals and services. This role includes budget management, team supervision, food safety compliance, and continuous improvement of cafeteria services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily cafeteria operations, including procurement, meal planning, and service delivery.
  • Supervise and train cafeteria staff to maintain high standards of hygiene and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and health regulations.
  • Control inventory and maintain cost-effective purchasing strategies.
  • Handle budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and implement feedback-driven improvements.

4. Research Grant Development Officer (Re-advertised, Full-time)

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

This position plays a key role in supporting Amref’s research and programmatic units in developing competitive grant proposals and funding applications. The Research Grant Development Officer will also coordinate proposal development processes, including stakeholder engagement and compliance checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify grant opportunities from donors and research funding agencies.
  • Coordinate grant application processes including timelines, documentation, and approvals.
  • Support technical teams in drafting, reviewing, and submitting grant proposals.
  • Ensure proposals comply with donor guidelines and Amref’s internal policies.
  • Maintain a database of funding opportunities and track application outcomes.
  • Build relationships with funding agencies and research institutions.

5. Business Units Coordinator (Full-time)

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

The Business Units Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support across Amref’s business units. This role supports cross-departmental coordination, compliance, and communication to ensure smooth functioning and timely delivery of strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate scheduling, reporting, and administrative support for business units.
  • Monitor progress of unit plans and ensure alignment with organizational targets.
  • Serve as a communication link between units and support departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain records and data related to unit performance and activities.
  • Support logistics and planning of internal and external engagements.

This role contributes to Amref’s public health impact by promoting safe water access, improved sanitation, and hygiene behaviors within communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance on WASH project design and delivery.
  • Support field teams in the implementation of WASH interventions.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular reports and analysis.
