1. Director Trade Facilitation

Job Description:
The Director Trade Facilitation will provide overall strategic leadership and guidance in the implementation of trade facilitation strategies and the operationalization of the National Electronic Single Window System. The role requires a deep understanding of national and international trade dynamics, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing national strategies for trade facilitation in line with government objectives.
  • Managing the development and sustainability of the Trade Facilitation Platform.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement with government agencies, the private sector, and international trade bodies.
  • Overseeing compliance with trade-related policies and advising on necessary reforms.
  • Supervising the implementation of capacity-building programs related to trade facilitation.
  • Coordinating the monitoring and evaluation of trade facilitation projects and reporting outcomes to senior government authorities.

2. Assistant Manager, Trade Facilitation

Job Description:
Reporting to the Director Trade Facilitation, the Assistant Manager will support the operationalization and enhancement of trade facilitation frameworks and the Single Window System. The role focuses on project execution, coordination of agency contributions, and ongoing system improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation of trade facilitation projects and monitoring performance indicators.
  • Coordinating inter-agency collaboration and support mechanisms.
  • Contributing to policy development and standard operating procedures for trade services.
  • Managing records and performance analytics to support reporting and auditing requirements.
  • Identifying barriers to trade facilitation and proposing effective solutions.
  • Participating in regional and international trade dialogue to align domestic efforts with global trends.

3. Product and Application Development Officer

Job Description:
The Product and Application Development Officer will focus on the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of KenTrade’s software applications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing user experience and functionality of the agency’s digital platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and coding new software applications and modules to meet user needs.
  • Upgrading and maintaining existing applications for improved performance.
  • Conducting user needs assessments and translating them into functional digital solutions.

  • Conducting risk-based audits of digital systems and recommending mitigating controls.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical assistance to users on hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Setting up, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Logging, tracking, and resolving support tickets within defined service levels.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks and reporting on system performance.

7. Office Assistant

Job Description:
The Office Assistant plays a critical support role in maintaining smooth administrative operations. This position involves clerical, logistical, and basic operational tasks that ensure efficiency in daily office functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including deliveries and mail.
  • Maintaining office cleanliness and supplies in designated areas.
  • Assisting in photocopying, filing, and document dispatch as needed.
  • Supporting administrative staff during meetings and events setup.
  • Running internal errands and ensuring timely delivery of documents.
