Job Title: Quality Officer

Department: Quality
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting To:

  • Directly to the Head of Quality – AOC/Compliance
  • Indirectly to the Head of Quality – AMO

Main Job Purpose:
The Quality Officer is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Quality Department, aiming to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of quality processes within the organization. This role plays a vital link between various departments, including Operations, Maintenance, and Medical, ensuring that quality objectives are achieved and regulatory compliance is maintained.


Job Description – Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Officer, you will be expected to:

  • Manage quality and compliance records in alignment with Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs) and AMREF quality standards.
  • Facilitate the distribution and update of company manuals, ensuring all are current and accessible.
  • Maintain the master list of all controlled documents and monitor documentation libraries across departments.
  • Assist in the review and management of quality-related documentation and records.
  • Support the rollout and oversight of the company’s document management system.
  • Help implement and monitor both AOC (Air Operator Certificate) and AMO (Approved Maintenance Organization) quality audit programs.
  • Review procedures and processes periodically to detect any gaps, risks, or compliance issues.
  • Develop and track corrective action plans resulting from audits or regulatory findings.
  • Promote staff awareness on quality standards, updates, and compliance requirements.
  • Gather and summarize data related to quality control trends for senior management.
  • Participate in Quality Management Review Meetings and other quality-related engagements.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Ensure civil aviation requirements are appropriately reflected in organizational operations.
  • Follow up on KCAA (Kenya Civil Aviation Authority) approval requests and ensure certifications remain current.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation for third-party audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in relation to quality assurance and compliance.

Work Environment
