Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) is a premier Development Finance Institution (DFI) mandated to promote sustainable socio-economic development through development and infrastructure finance, as well as business support and advisory services to medium and large-scale industries, infrastructure projects, and commercial ventures both in Kenya and beyond.

KDC is currently inviting applications from qualified professionals for a range of six-month short-term contract positions. These opportunities are ideal for individuals seeking to apply their expertise in impactful development projects while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Available Positions


1. System Developer – Job Grade 5 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop system documentation and implement computer programs.
  • Install and configure IT systems and applications.
  • Provide system maintenance, end-user support, and ICT training.
  • Administer Active Directory, email servers, and user applications.
  • Maintain ICT equipment registers and the KDC website.
  • Perform regular data backups to ensure business continuity.
  • Design, customize, and support Microsoft Dynamics Navision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, CISA, etc.).
  • Certification in Microsoft Dynamics Nav/Business Central.
  • Supervisory course (minimum two weeks).
  • Membership to an ICT professional body.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

2. Senior ICT Security Officer – Job Grade 5 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Similar ICT responsibilities as the System Developer.
  • Additional focus on cybersecurity tasks and policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Cybersecurity certification.
  • Membership to an ICT professional body.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

3. Senior Communications Assistant – Job Grade 7 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Capture, edit, and produce visual content for digital platforms.
  • Design marketing and branding materials.
  • Manage social media accounts and digital engagement.
  • Support event planning and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in creative media production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.

4. Senior Portfolio Management Officer (Property Management) – Job Grade 5 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee tenant relations, lease administration, rent collection, and arrears management.
  • Optimize property occupancy and rental revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with lease terms and property management regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
  • Four (4) years’ experience in property or portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of real estate laws and controlled tenancy regulations.

5. Accountant/Finance Officer – Job Grade 6 (3 Positions)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting, billing, and reconciliation.
  • Manage statutory payments and staff claims.
  • Supervise cash collection, banking, and payroll processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and computer applications.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

6. Legal Officer – Job Grade 6 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support legal proceedings.
  • Draft contracts, legal opinions, and policy documents.
  • Conduct legal research and represent KDC in courts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Law degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Law.
  • Advocate of the High Court with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Membership in the Law Society of Kenya.

7. Legal Assistant – Job Grade 8 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support file management, legal documentation, and service of legal documents.
  • Assist in the management of legal records and stakeholder communication.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Law or Paralegal Studies.
  • Certificate in process serving and computer proficiency.

8. Investment Officer – Job Grade 6 (6 Positions)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business appraisals and disbursement follow-ups.
  • Monitor project implementation and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Good communication and computer skills.

9. Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer – Job Grade 6 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project proposals and financing structures.
  • Develop strategic partnership proposals and manage contract activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or International Development.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

10. Research, Policy & Innovation Officer – Job Grade 6 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, policy analysis, and innovation coordination.
  • Provide insights on emerging industry trends and business models.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Management, Economics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in research and policy development.

11. Supply Chain Management Assistant – Job Grade 8 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct procurement processes, market surveys, and supplier management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and delivery of goods and services.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Membership in KISM or CIPS.

12. Driver – Job Grade 8 (1 Position)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive and maintain KDC vehicles.
  • Report on vehicle condition and submit work tickets.

Requirements:

  • KCSE D+ and valid driver’s license.
  • Four years’ driving experience and First Aid training.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

13. Environmental Safeguards Expert (World Bank Projects)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ESIAs in accordance with World Bank and Kenyan environmental policies.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Environmental Sciences.
  • NEMA registration as a Lead Expert.
  • Ten years’ experience with at least seven in environmental assessments.
  • Knowledge of World Bank environmental guidelines and reporting procedures.
