Position: Bancassurance Operations Officer, Corporate

Role Purpose
The Bancassurance Operations Officer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective administration of bancassurance operations. The role involves supporting the policy lifecycle, improving operational processes, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in optimizing service delivery across customer and partner touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Policy Administration: Coordinate the administrative lifecycle of bancassurance policies including issuance, renewals, endorsements, and reimbursements.
- Customer Service: Address client inquiries and resolve issues across all customer service channels.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement and automation initiatives that increase operational efficiency.
- Reporting:
- Generate and analyze portfolio performance and claims experience reports.
- Prepare and circulate production and turnaround time (TAT) reports for the bancassurance distribution network.
- Analyze data and generate insights to inform strategic planning.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with bancassurance partners.
- Foster effective interdepartmental collaboration to enhance the overall customer experience.
Corporate Governance
- Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain 100% KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance for intermediaries.
- Data Protection:
- Adhere to the Data Protection Act, 2019, when handling policyholder information.
- Laws and Regulations:
- Ensure alignment with all external laws and industry regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
- Promote ethical culture and compliance by reinforcing integrity and transparency within the team.
- Encourage internal reporting of compliance risks or concerns.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Proven ability to manage turnaround times for critical deliverables like policy issuance and claims reimbursements.
- Deep understanding of insurance and bancassurance regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills and capability to reconcile premiums and interpret financial records.
- Experience with operational performance metrics, including loss ratios and Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
- Commitment to delivering superior customer service and satisfaction.
- Expertise in workflow automation and operational tracker development.
- Familiarity with health programs such as chronic condition management and lifestyle modification programs (e.g., LMP enrolment) in a bancassurance context.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related course.
- Insurance Professional Qualification.
- Advanced training in data analytics.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a busy Insurance or Bancassurance environment.
