1. Director, Trade Facilitation – KTNA 2

Location: Nairobi
Reporting to: CEO

Role Purpose

The Director of Trade Facilitation is responsible for analyzing trade facilitation trends within Kenya and globally. The role focuses on mitigating the impact of tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade by engaging stakeholders across both public and private sectors. The Director oversees the National Electronic Single Window System (NESWS) and other trade facilitation tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic business models, budgets, and performance work plans.
  • Analyze supply chain operations to recommend improved trade processes.
  • Facilitate consultative workshops and strengthen capacity among trade stakeholders.
  • Promote cooperation and understanding across public and private trade participants.
  • Align international trade facilitation practices with local requirements.
  • Identify and address institutional, legal, and functional barriers to trade.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service within the trade facilitation framework.
  • Drive stakeholder lobbying across the logistics and trade sectors.
  • Oversee NESWS research and development as a facilitation tool.
  • Guide reengineering efforts to improve systems among NESWS users.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in trade facilitation, with at least 7 years in senior management.
  • Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
  • Exposure to transport logistics and shipping.
  • Familiarity with international conventions and trade agreements such as the WTO and EAC Protocol.
  • Active membership in a recognized professional body.
  • Completion of a leadership development program of at least 4 weeks.
  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

2. Assistant Manager, Trade Facilitation – KTNA 4

Location: Mombasa
Reporting to: Manager, Trade Facilitation and Value Add Services

Role Purpose

This role oversees regional operations in Mombasa, including human resources, IT, customer service, and trade facilitation. The Assistant Manager supports key programs such as Coordinated Border Management, National Single Window, Customs Modernization, and the Ports Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operations of the Kenya Electronic Single Window and integrated systems.
  • Lead regional initiatives including Pre-Arrival Clearance and Mombasa Port Charter.
  • Facilitate regional resource mobilization efforts in line with agency policy.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Coordinate the implementation of MoUs and SLAs with public and private entities.
  • Foster collaboration between customs, ports, and the trading community.
  • Promote adoption of international trade facilitation measures locally.
  • Lead regional trade community lobbying and engagement.
  • Provide support for internal trade activities within county governments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in trade facilitation.
  • Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in relevant business fields.
  • Good standing membership in a recognized professional body.
  • Completion of a two-week supervisory or management course.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

3. Product and Application Development Officer – KTNA 7

Location: Nairobi
Reporting to: Assistant Manager, Product and Application Development

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and testing new and existing software programs to meet organizational needs. It involves application maintenance and writing system documentation and user manuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain documentation for software and revisions.
  • Conduct application testing and debugging.
  • Develop software for data storage, retrieval, and hardware control.
  • Perform software maintenance and upgrades.
  • Analyze and rewrite software using flowcharts and logical frameworks.
  • Draft user manuals and technical documentation.
  • Provide user support and training.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business IT, or related discipline.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

4. System Analyst – KTNA 7

Location: Nairobi
Reporting to: Assistant Manager, Product and Application Development

Role Purpose

The System Analyst ensures that the organization’s information systems are effectively designed and implemented to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current systems to identify improvement areas.
  • Translate user and departmental requirements into project briefs.
  • Develop system specifications and designs.
  • Propose technical solutions and assess feasibility.
  • Draft proposals for system changes or replacements.
  • Ensure system usability and compatibility.
  • Train end users on implemented systems.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in systems analysis.

5. Internal Auditor – Information Systems – KTNA 7

Location: Nairobi
Reporting to: Manager, Internal Audit

Role Purpose

The IS Auditor evaluates and assures the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and compliance related to information systems and broader organizational operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual risk-based audit plans.
  • Conduct operational, compliance, and ICT system audits.
  • Assess system development, security, data integrity, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate compliance with ICT procedures and regulations.
  • Audit revenue and expenditures for compliance and control effectiveness.
  • Prepare audit reports and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up on previous audit findings for corrective action.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT auditing.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.
  • CPA (K) qualification.
  • Membership with IIA or ICPAK.

6. ICT Service Support Assistant – KTNA 9 (2 Posts)

Location: Nairobi
Reporting to: Senior System Administrator

Role Purpose

This role provides first- and second-level technical support and ensures timely resolution of ICT-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Log user-reported issues and offer initial troubleshooting.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to specialists.
  • Monitor and track issue resolution.
  • Prepare reports on ICT support progress.
  • Communicate system updates and changes to users.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in IT or related discipline.
  • Certifications: CCNA or MCSE.

7. Office Assistant – KTNA 11 (2 Posts)

Role Purpose

  • Serve tea and refreshments.
