Now Hiring: Chief of Party – USDA Agricultural Development Program
We are currently seeking a highly skilled, visionary, and experienced Chief of Party (CoP) to lead an anticipated USDA Food for Progress Program spanning 3–5 years. This agricultural development initiative may be implemented in one of the following countries: Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, or Vietnam. The selected Chief of Party will be responsible for guiding the program’s overall strategy, execution, partnerships, and impact delivery.

Key Responsibilities
As the Chief of Party, you will:
- Provide strategic guidance, leadership, and oversight for all program activities.
- Lead the implementation of the entire program lifecycle—from initiation through closeout—ensuring the achievement of set goals, results, and sustainability benchmarks.
- Supervise and coordinate long- and short-term technical experts and consortium partner contributions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the project and the USDA, as well as other stakeholders, including government officials, private sector partners, NGOs, and community representatives.
- Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet the quality standards expected by the donor.
- Cultivate innovation in programming and foster operational efficiency across all components of the project.
- Represent the project nationally, regionally, and globally at conferences, workshops, and key stakeholder meetings.
- Coordinate gender-integrated approaches and ensure inclusivity in programming wherever feasible.
- Ensure compliance with all USDA and TechnoServe operational, financial, and ethical guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
(Note: Qualifications are only listed where provided)
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in business, international development, economics, public policy, education, agricultural economics, or other related field. A bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in international development, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams across multiple sectors and countries, ideally in roles such as Chief of Party, Program Director, or Team Leader.
- Experience implementing or managing USDA, USAID, or other bilateral donor-funded programs.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with private sector entities and promoting market-led development strategies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively engage public and private sector partners.
- Prior experience designing or executing gender-integrated programming is an added advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
This role is contingent upon the award of funding and donor approval.
