1. Job Title: Midwife/Maternity Nurse

Reports To: Maternity Nurse-in-Charge

a) Job Purpose

The Midwife/Maternity Nurse will ensure high-quality clinical care for all patients in the maternity ward by providing safe and effective nursing services, aligned with the hospital’s treatment protocols and standards.

b) Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide client-centered care in accordance with hospital standard protocols.
  • Identify obstetric complications and carry out timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients in the maternity ward effectively.
  • Administer prescribed medications and perform clinical procedures within professional guidelines.
  • Deliver an outstanding client experience throughout the patient journey.
  • Counsel and prepare mothers for labor, childbirth, and postpartum stages.
  • Monitor labor and delivery and intervene promptly during emergencies.
  • Conduct safe and hygienic deliveries.
  • Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including use of the partograph.
  • Educate and support mothers in breastfeeding and newborn care.
  • Follow up on investigations and procedures prescribed by attending doctors.
  • Provide comprehensive reproductive health counselling including HIV, vaccinations, pap smears, etc.
  • Maintain medical equipment in the doctors’ and nursing rooms.
  • Compile and submit timely and professional nursing reports.

c) Minimum Requirements

  • Kenya Registered Midwife (KRM), Kenya Registered Nurse Midwife (KRN/M), or BScN holder.
  • Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in a busy maternity ward or similar setting.
  • Valid certification in BLS, EMONC, ALSO, ETAT+, and ACLS.

d) Key Competencies

  • Strong clinical acumen.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage emergencies and deliver high-quality care.

2. Job Title: Revenue Officer

Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer

a) Job Purpose

The Revenue Officer plays a critical role in managing patient registration, billing, charge entry, and overall accounts receivable functions. This role ensures accurate and timely financial transactions to enhance patient experience and hospital revenue integrity.

b) Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately register and bill patients across multiple service channels including Slade, Smart, LCT, SHA, and MTIBA.
  • Handle cash and cash equivalents with precision and accountability.
  • Document and process overpaid account refunds for follow-up with respective payers.
  • Post and update inpatient service charges in real-time on the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Verify admission documentation for all patients as per specific insurance and internal requirements.
  • Manage discharge procedures, ensure billing accuracy and obtain necessary authorizations within agreed turnaround times.
  • Protect and enhance the hospital’s brand by upholding professional standards and delivering superior customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance company requirements for claims processing.

c) Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setup.
  • Proficient in computer applications and hospital billing systems.

d) Key Competencies

The Customer Experience Officer will oversee patient and visitor interactions, ensuring smooth operations and a premium client journey throughout the hospital. The role is pivotal in delivering excellent service, maintaining patient satisfaction, and upholding the hospital’s reputation.

b) Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver courteous and timely customer service across all touchpoints.
  • Manage the Customer Experience Desk effectively.
  • Operate the call center by addressing inquiries, managing feedback, and routing calls appropriately.
  • Coordinate outpatient services and ensure effective patient flow.
  • Ensure compliance with the hospital’s Queue Management System.
  • Facilitate doctor scheduling and room allocations.
  • Handle appointment bookings and confirmations efficiently.
  • Receive and address patient feedback and inquiries with professionalism.
  • Support staff training in customer service standards and hospital values.
  • Provide patient orientation and guidance throughout their hospital visit.

c) Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Front Office, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Formal training in customer service or customer care.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a busy customer-facing environment.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is an added advantage.

d) Key Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and patience.
  • Proficiency in managing customer complaints and resolving conflicts.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to make sound decisions that support patient experience goals.
  • Familiarity with customer experience tools and trends.
