Background of the Assignment
Effective media communication is critical in shaping public perception, influencing policy, and increasing visibility for humanitarian efforts. For WVK, whose mission relies heavily on public trust and engagement, senior leaders must be able to clearly and confidently articulate the organization’s vision, values, and impact.
This consultancy assignment will play a pivotal role in preparing the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Senior Management Team (SMT) to confidently handle media engagements, respond effectively during crises, and establish strong personal brands that reflect the core values of World Vision.
Objective of the Assignment
The primary goal is to enhance the communication skills of WVK’s leadership, ensuring they are media-ready and capable of handling public engagements strategically and professionally.
Specific Objectives
- Equip leaders with knowledge of the local and international media landscape and its influence on public opinion.
- Train participants on best practices in media interaction and how to answer challenging questions.
- Strengthen leaders’ ability to manage crisis communications while preserving the organization’s reputation.
- Foster strong personal branding aligned with WVK’s mission and values.

The training will be conducted in two main parts:
Day 1:
- Morning Session: Media Engagement
- Afternoon Session: Personal Branding
Half Day (Day 2):
- Media Interview Simulation and Feedback

Expected Deliverables
Pre-Training
- Conduct a pre-training needs assessment through questionnaires or interviews.
- Develop a detailed training agenda with clear time slots and prepared learning materials.
During Training

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communication, or a related field
- Over 7 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in media training
- Proven track record of delivering similar assignments independently
