Job Purpose:
The role holder will be responsible for leading and managing bank branches’ regionalÂ
relationships in the domiciled region, implements the specific bank strategies at the regionalÂ
level to ensure the company achieves its corporate goals in terms of growth, profitability,Â
customer service and the set regional revenue targets. Also, to implement sales plans/actionsÂ
and identify new partnerships within the region for all lines of business.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the various bank branch staffs and insurance officers in the region toÂ
support business acquisition from all lines of businesses (GI, EMC, Life & Pension) andÂ
achieve the set targets. - Analyze regional expectations and provide insights back to the business to deliverÂ
competitively on a product offering and or processes. - Facilitate knowledge sharing and trainings to various bank branches officers and clients inÂ
the assigned regions. - Ensures Britam Products cross-selling takes place in new and existing business across allÂ
bank partners in the regions. - Plans and executes exciting and innovative regional sales tactics.
- Assists with regional implementation and repositioning of new product initiatives andÂ
specific bank strategies agreed at the head office levels. - Adhere to regulatory/ compliance and internal procedures regarding bancassuranceÂ
businesses. - Ensure maintenance of a healthy sales pipeline that supports new business on boarding.
- Clearly understands sales targets set, influences, and drives the achievement ofÂ
Bancassurance sales through optimal regional relationship management. - Ensure timely preparation of required presentations, sales pitches and product benefitsÂ
write up in the region. - Provide quotations as and when required by bancassurance intermediaries within set outÂ
time frames. - Ensure premium payment for all closed sales are within the company’s set credit controlÂ
policy. - Acquire and retain profitable businesses in line with acceptable loss ratios and Britam’s riskÂ
appetite. - Perform any other duties as may be allocated from time to time and should be available forÂ
deployment to work from any of the six bancassurance demarcated regions in Kenya.
Relationship building & sales management.
- Builds, maintains, and sustain business relationships with the regional bank partners’ teams,Â
Business development officers, Credit officers, Relationship Managers and Direct SalesÂ
teams. - Active management of relationships with all bank branch staffs to ensure smooth running ofÂ
the distribution channels in delivering targets. - Integrate well with all members of the team into a harmonious unit committed to the teamÂ
vision and direction within the team (Intra-team). - Receptive to constructive criticism, feedback and ideas from supervisors, businessÂ
partners, colleagues. - Maintain event calendars for all partners within the region to increase team building andÂ
synergy. - Ensure that route maps and call trees are maintained to facilitate regular engagement ofÂ
officers within the region as shall be set out from time to time. - Applies knowledge, resources, and experience to resolve problems.
- Ensure relationship building with key customers and service providers within the region.
- Ensure that a record of all partners officers is maintained and regularly updated to includeÂ
location, telephone number and email address of the respective officers in the region. - Maintain an activities tracker that ensures that all activities and initiatives are well alwaysÂ
tracked.
Training
- Ensures empowerment trainings on products and processes to our mutual bank partnersÂ
(Across all lines of businesses) takes place in the regions as and when required. - Ensures that induction trainings are carried out for all new partner officers within the regionÂ
on Britam processes and procedures. - Ensure that customers are well appraised on the solutions taken up through training, writeups and after sales follow up for feedback.Â
Reporting
- Ensure that stipulated weekly and monthly reports are prepared and shared within theÂ
agreed timelines and in the format stipulated - Ensure monthly expense reports are prepared and submitted within the stipulated processesÂ
and procedures.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related degree.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Progress on any professional qualification i.e. AIIK.
