Job Purpose: To ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial information and annual budgets for use by Management and key stakeholders.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-ordinates the preparation of the annual Hospital budgets i.e., the income expenditure budget, capital expenditure budget, cash flow budget and balance sheet.
- Co-ordinates the preparation of Budget Implementation Action Plans.
- Ensures monthly financial reports and information to the Management, Finance Committee and Board of Management are prepared on a timely basis.
- Tracking and reporting of departmental performance on periodic basis.
- Lead costing activities for services and procedures.
- Prepares periodical forecasts.
- Ensures that appropriate procedures and accounting systems are in place and are fully always understood and complied with.
- Supports the auditing exercises by providing required information to both internal and external auditors.
- Liaises actively with fellow Accountants in ensuring completeness and accuracy of Management Accounts reporting.
- Reconciles income in the Management Accounts between the ERP and the General Ledger.
- Fixed assets management i.e. update register, manage disposals, reconcile asset ledgers with asset register etc
- Inventory management i.e. coordinate stock take exercises, reconcile inventory ledgers with physical inventory, monitor expired/near expiry and obsolete inventory and adjust for the same.
- Ensures the General Ledger reconciliations are performed monthly.
- Ensuring all tax obligations (if any) are filed in accordance with the prevailing KRA requirements.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or related degree with a major in Accounting.
- Expert knowledge of accounting, auditing, financial and management reporting.
- Computer literate and conversant with computerized accounting packages.
- Professional Qualification
Professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountants (CPA) K/ACCA or CFA.
- Job Experience
- Six (6) years progressive working experience in accounting with at least three at a senior level.
- Membership
Membership with Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
