Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the accounting officer, overseeing day-to-day operations and management of the Authority.

2. Director, Maritime Education, Training and Labour

  • Coordinate the accreditation and monitoring of maritime training institutions.
  • Address seafarer welfare, recruitment, and certification matters.
  • Liaise with international maritime organizations on education and labour standards.

3. Director, Maritime Trade and Development

Job Purpose: The Director is responsible for promoting and regulating maritime trade and development activities, ensuring the growth and sustainability of the maritime sector.

  • Coordinate certification processes for marine engineering personnel.

5. Assistant Director, Research, Strategy & Planning

Job Purpose: The role involves initiating policy formulation, conducting research, and coordinating strategic planning to inform KMA’s decision-making processes.

  • Develop and review KMA’s strategic plans.
  • Coordinate performance management and risk assessment activities.

6. Senior Licensing & Seaborne Trade Officer

Job Purpose: This officer is responsible for coordinating and implementing strategies to ensure the orderly development of maritime services and trade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process licensing applications for maritime service providers.
  • Monitor compliance with maritime trade regulations.
  • Collect and analyze data on seaborne trade activities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to facilitate efficient maritime operations.
  • Prepare reports on licensing and trade activities.

7. Licensing & Seaborne Trade Officer

Job Purpose: The officer assists in coordinating and implementing strategies for the development of maritime services and trade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing licensing applications.
  • Monitor adherence to maritime trade policies.
  • Support data collection and analysis on seaborne trade.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote compliance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation.

8. Senior Coxswain

Job Purpose: The Senior Coxswain is responsible for the safe operation of search and rescue boats during maritime emergencies and routine operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pilot search and rescue boats during operations.
  • Maintain search and rescue equipment and ensure readiness.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and housekeeping of rescue vessels.
  • Assist in training junior coxswains and crew members.
  • Coordinate with rescue teams during emergency responses.
