Now Hiring: Dentist (Full-Time)

Location: Nairobi / Kiambu
Department: Clinical Services
Reports to: Head of Clinical Services

Role Summary:

The Dentist at Penda Health will be responsible for delivering comprehensive dental care to patients, driving oral health awareness, and ensuring that dental services meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical excellence, leadership ability, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed oral health assessments to diagnose dental diseases and conditions.
  • Develop and execute personalized treatment plans to meet patient needs.
  • Perform a wide range of dental procedures including:
    • Fillings
    • Extractions
    • Root canals
    • Crowns and bridges
    • Dentures
    • Other restorative techniques
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive dental care, and post-procedure instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and ensure consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with Dental Nurses, Clinical Officers (COHOs), and other health professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Keep accurate, updated records of patients’ dental health history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Oversee and manage inventory of dental supplies and maintenance of dental equipment.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead community outreach initiatives to promote oral health awareness.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in dental practices, techniques, and products.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior dental staff and support their growth and professional development.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by participating in clinical audits and implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health regulations, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to the growth of the dental department by implementing strategies to attract and retain dental patients.
