This position is based in the Administrative Unit of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Sudan Country Office, located in Nairobi. The incumbent will report directly to both the Head of Office and the Head of the Administrative Unit.
Key Responsibilities
Under the delegated authority and depending on the duty station, the Driver will be responsible for the following duties:
- Safely operate vehicles to transport authorized personnel.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other official items.
- Meet and assist official personnel at the airport, ensuring smooth immigration and customs procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance of the assigned vehicles (e.g. checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and perform minor repairs; coordinate more extensive repairs as needed.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance logs, and servicing schedules.
- Follow established procedures in the event of an accident.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data, preparing presentations and reports for decision-making, knowledge sharing, and planning.
- Support the development of visual content and updates for communication materials including web pages and brochures.
- Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of one (1) year of professional driving experience with a safe driving record is required.
- Experience in operating various vehicle types, including vans and other motorized vehicles, is essential.
- Prior experience as a professional driver within the United Nations, an international NGO, or a multinational company is highly desirable.
