Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager – Agribusiness and Healthcare Programs will be responsible for marketing and selling the Agribusiness and Healthcare programs at SBS. Working closely with the Senior Manager Business Development, the role involves building and cultivating sustainable relationships with both public and private sector partners, nationally and internationally.
The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in business development, market intelligence gathering, solution selling, and creating customized training solutions. A proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing strategic partnerships is essential for success in this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sales
- Identify and target new clients to drive business growth and meet individual and team financial targets.
- Propose new initiatives for existing clients to expand engagement and sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Create and maintain industry linkages to position SBS as a premier knowledge partner in leadership transformation.
- Continually explore ways to enhance customer experience and deepen client and partner relationships.
- Conduct data mining activities to develop and maintain a robust prospect pipeline for each allocated program.
2. Marketing
- Analyze and manage stakeholders to maintain close engagement with the market.
- Conduct continuous business intelligence to understand evolving client needs and market dynamics.
- Collaborate with the program coordination team to track and analyze client satisfaction levels.
3. Operational Excellence
- Participate in program review processes with Senior Manager Business Development, Academic Directors, and Program Management teams.
- Prepare internal management reports and client reports as required, supporting data-driven decision-making processes.
- Implement effective process improvements to enhance client relationships and service delivery.
Pre-Requisite Job Requirements
The Business Development Manager will be expected to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in business development, with a proven track record in sales and client relationship management.
- A Diploma in Marketing or CIM qualification will be an added advantage.
- Experience in engaging and managing relationships with c-suite clients.
- Strong research, planning, and reporting skills.
- Excellent business communication skills, with a strong aptitude for pitching and proposal development.
- Ability to analyze data from multiple sources to identify business opportunities.
- Deep understanding of how business ecosystems work and where opportunities for growth can be harnessed.
