The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) is one of the nine Water Works Development Agencies established under the Water Act, 2016. Constituted on 3rd May 2016 through Legal Notice No. 27 of 26th April 2019 by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Water & Sanitation, CRVWWDA has been mandated to spearhead the development of water and sanitation infrastructure in its area of jurisdiction. The Agency is a key player in ensuring sustainable water resources management and providing critical services to millions of Kenyans.

Below are the details of the vacant positions:
1. General Manager Infrastructure Development & Management
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of infrastructure development and management. Duties will include supervising the planning, design, and execution of water and sanitation projects, leading multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, managing budgets, and fostering strategic partnerships with stakeholders to promote sustainable project implementation.
2. Principal Engineer (Civil)
The Principal Engineer (Civil) will be in charge of planning, designing, and supervising civil engineering projects. Key duties will include preparing and reviewing project proposals, overseeing the implementation of projects, ensuring engineering designs comply with safety and quality standards, coordinating project teams, and providing professional engineering advice to senior management.
3. Engineer I (Civil)
Engineer I (Civil) will perform complex engineering tasks in the design and supervision of water and sanitation projects. Responsibilities include undertaking feasibility studies, conducting site inspections, preparing engineering reports, participating in tender evaluations, and ensuring that construction projects adhere to set timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
4. Engineer II (Civil)
Engineer II (Civil) will support project execution by assisting with engineering designs, conducting basic structural analysis, supervising contractor works on-site, verifying materials specifications, and preparing technical progress reports. The role demands strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
5. Inspector Water Engineering III
The Inspector Water Engineering III will be primarily involved in the site supervision of ongoing projects. Responsibilities include conducting inspections to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, documenting construction activities, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions, and supporting project engineers in delivering successful projects.
6. Sociologist II
Sociologist II will play a critical role in the social dimensions of infrastructure projects. Duties will involve conducting social impact assessments, facilitating community engagement sessions, developing mitigation plans for adverse social impacts, and ensuring that project benefits are equitably shared among stakeholders. The officer will also provide guidance on community mobilization strategies.
7. Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will oversee the agency’s accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, budget monitoring, management of financial risks, supervision of finance staff, and adherence to Public Finance Management regulations. The role involves ensuring timely reporting and compliance with audit requirements.
8. Accounts Assistant II
Accounts Assistant II will assist in financial operations including invoice processing, preparation of payment vouchers, maintenance of financial records, reconciliation of bank statements, management of petty cash, and support in the generation of periodic financial reports to ensure efficient financial management.
9. Senior Administrative Officer
The Senior Administrative Officer will manage and coordinate administrative support services including office management, logistics, facility management, records keeping, and coordination of staff welfare activities. The role will also involve assisting in human resource support functions and ensuring compliance with administrative policies.
10. Senior Office Administrator
The Senior Office Administrator will provide executive support to senior management. Duties include managing schedules, preparing official correspondence, organizing internal and external meetings, maintaining filing systems, and ensuring confidentiality and efficiency in all administrative processes.
11. Water Quality Officer II
Water Quality Officer II will monitor the quality of water produced and supplied through agency-managed infrastructure. Duties include sampling and analyzing water, preparing quality assurance reports, identifying water quality issues, recommending treatment solutions, and ensuring compliance with water quality standards.
12. Land Economist II
Land Economist II will oversee land-related matters for the agency’s infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include land valuation, conducting negotiations for land acquisitions, facilitating compensation processes, interpreting land policies, and advising management on land and property issues.
13. Office Assistant III
Office Assistant III will provide essential clerical support including the distribution of mail, photocopying, filing, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of offices, running official errands, and supporting day-to-day operational needs of various departments.
14. Corporate Communications Assistant III
Corporate Communications Assistant III will support the communications team in managing internal and external communications. Tasks include drafting press releases, assisting with social media management, preparing newsletters, organizing corporate events, and helping to manage the agency’s image and brand visibility.
15. Corporate Communications Officer
The Corporate Communications Officer will develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the agency’s visibility. Duties include managing media relations, organizing public events, producing publications and newsletters, responding to media inquiries, and advising management on communication trends and public relations strategies.
16. Hydro-Geologist II
Hydro-Geologist II will be responsible for groundwater exploration and development. The officer will conduct hydrogeological investigations, supervise drilling operations, monitor borehole performance, analyze hydrogeological data, and provide recommendations for sustainable groundwater resource management.
17. Records Management Officer II
The Records Management Officer II will manage physical and electronic records, develop record-keeping policies, ensure secure storage and retrieval of information, oversee file classification, and support audit processes through proper records management practices.
18. Partnership & Resource Mobilization Officer
The Partnership & Resource Mobilization Officer will identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships that support the agency’s objectives. The officer will draft funding proposals, coordinate with donors, monitor grant usage, and report on funding performance to management.
19. Principal Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer
The Principal Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer will oversee all resource mobilization and partnership development efforts. Duties include coordinating the development of resource mobilization strategies, negotiating partnerships, preparing high-quality funding proposals, and building strong relationships with development partners.
20. Senior Legal Officer
The Senior Legal Officer will provide legal advisory services, draft and review contracts and agreements, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, manage litigations and disputes involving the agency, and assist in the formulation of internal policies from a legal perspective.
21. Senior Internal Auditor
The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for ensuring that internal control systems are effective. Duties include planning and conducting risk-based audits, analyzing audit findings, preparing detailed audit reports, and making recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and risk management.
22. Partnership & Corporate Planning Officer
The Partnership & Corporate Planning Officer will assist in the development of corporate strategies, monitoring and evaluating program performance, coordinating planning activities across departments, and ensuring that strategic objectives are aligned with national development goals and sector policies.
23. Supply Chain Management Assistant I
Supply Chain Management Assistant I will support procurement and logistics activities. Duties include maintaining procurement records, preparing purchase orders, assisting in the tendering process, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring that all procurement activities comply with legal and policy frameworks.
24. Supply Chain Management Officer II
The Supply Chain Management Officer II will manage procurement functions including supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, inventory management, and procurement reporting. The officer will ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with public procurement laws.
25. Information Communication Technology Assistant II
ICT Assistant II will support the agency’s IT infrastructure by maintaining hardware, software, and network systems. Duties include troubleshooting technical issues, updating IT systems, ensuring cybersecurity protocols are adhered to, providing IT support to staff, and managing data backup and recovery procedures.
26. Driver III
Driver III will provide transport services for personnel and materials. Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with transport policies, keeping accurate records of vehicle use, and providing logistical support for field operations.
27. Driver I
Driver I will operate assigned vehicles for senior executives and other official duties. The role includes ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers, maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent condition, scheduling service appointments, and keeping detailed trip records.
