Role Overview
As an Agent Welfare Associate, you will serve as the frontline HR contact for Sun King’s vast network of field sales agents across Kenya. Your mission will be to enhance their welfare, track performance trends, support emergency responses, and strengthen engagement. The role is designed for individuals who are proactive, empathetic, and excellent communicators.
You will be a key player in fostering strong relationships with agents, understanding their experiences on the ground, and offering them the right support — all while traveling across various regions in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for Sun King’s sales agents, supporting their welfare needs and responding to their challenges in real time.
- Travel extensively (50-60% of the time) across assigned zones to engage directly with field agents and build strong relationships through personal interactions.
- Conduct regular focus group discussions and one-on-one meetings with agents to understand their working conditions, job satisfaction, and challenges.
- Facilitate training sessions with regional mentors, covering critical company policies such as code of conduct, inclusivity, sexual harassment prevention, anti-discrimination, and professionalism.
- Provide immediate and structured support in emergencies involving agents, such as accidents, assaults, medical incidents, and other crisis situations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., insurance providers) to ensure timely support and resolution of emergency cases.
- Develop crisis management protocols and lead training programs to help agents de-escalate and handle risky situations safely.
- Monitor agent performance metrics, identify top talent, and support recruitment and transition into full-time roles within the company.
- Analyze reasons behind agent attrition and propose data-driven solutions to improve retention, morale, and job satisfaction.
- Act as a liaison between agents and the insurance provider, offering assistance during hospital admissions, medical claims, and policy clarifications.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in customer service, employee relations, HR support, or a similar role that involves direct human interaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in people development and engagement.
- Comfortable working in diverse, field-based environments and resolving welfare or HR issues in a timely, empathetic, and strategic manner.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili, both verbal and written.
- High level of initiative, reliability, and problem-solving capacity.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and basic HR information systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Kenya.
