1. Vacancy No. 1/2025: Accountant II – Job Group CSG ‘11’ (10 Posts)
The role of an Accountant II within the Office of the Attorney-General is critical in ensuring the proper management of public resources. These professionals are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring adherence to public financial management regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of final accounts, including the preparation of trial balances, bank reconciliations, and monthly expenditure reports.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of books of accounts and keeping them updated and compliant with accounting standards.
- Handling payment processes such as verification of payment vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Participating in the preparation of budget estimates and reviewing expenditure trends to ensure compliance with approved allocations.
- Performing ledger posting for various accounts, including revenue, expenditure, and other financial transactions.
- Managing and maintaining appropriate financial records and reports for audits.

2. Vacancy No. 2/2025: Public Communication Officer II – Job Group CSG ‘11’ (2 Posts)
Public communication is a vital component of modern governance. In this role, the Public Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and disseminating information regarding the OAG & DOJ’s programs, policies, and services to various stakeholders and the general public.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researching and gathering content for press releases, newsletters, media briefings, and other communication materials.
- Preparing and disseminating press statements, official speeches, and talking points for senior officials during public events and media engagements.
- Organizing press conferences, media tours, exhibitions, and public events in liaison with media houses and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinating the department’s participation in national communication forums and government-wide media campaigns.
- Monitoring and evaluating media coverage to assess public perception and propose appropriate communication interventions.
- Developing internal communication materials aimed at enhancing staff awareness and engagement with departmental objectives.
- Managing the OAG & DOJ’s official website and social media platforms to ensure timely updates and promotion of transparency.
- Liaising with government agencies, the media, and the public to address queries and provide accurate information.
- Maintaining a media database and an archive of communication products including photographs, video clips, and publications.
- Supporting the development of communication strategies and content that promote legal awareness and access to justice.

3. Vacancy No. 3/2025: Clerical Officer II – Job Group CSG ‘14’ (10 Posts)
The Clerical Officer role is fundamental to the smooth operation of administrative processes in the public service. As part of the administrative support team, Clerical Officers are responsible for handling records, processing routine office documents, and supporting day-to-day clerical operations within the department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiling and maintaining accurate records for all transactions and official correspondence.
- Filing, sorting, and retrieving documents for use by officers and ensuring the safety of all confidential records.
- Performing data entry tasks for the updating of databases, filing systems, and digital archives.
- Registering incoming and outgoing mail, sorting it appropriately, and ensuring timely dispatch to relevant departments or officers.
- Assisting in the distribution of documents, forms, and communication materials within the department or to external stakeholders.
- Photocopying, scanning, and binding documents for use in meetings or for official recordkeeping.
- Assisting in inventory management by recording the movement of assets and supplies in designated registers.
- Maintaining neat and orderly office spaces and storage areas, ensuring efficient document access.
- Participating in the preparation and arrangement of venues for official meetings, trainings, or seminars.
- Supporting senior officers in administrative tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
