Role Overview

The Home Loan Specialist will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end mortgage application process. You will work closely with customers to identify the best home loan options based on their financial needs and creditworthiness. From initial consultations to loan disbursement, the role demands a high level of professionalism, integrity, customer service, and mortgage product knowledge.

This position blends customer-facing responsibilities with administrative oversight, ensuring that all aspects of the mortgage process—from acquisition and onboarding to compliance—are handled with precision and care. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing directly to the department’s performance targets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement & Product Advisory
    • Provide home loan solutions by assessing customers’ financial profiles and housing needs.
    • Explain available products and help customers choose mortgage options that suit their circumstances.
    • Assist customers throughout the mortgage application journey, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Loan Application Management
    • Review mortgage applications, verify documentation, and determine eligibility in accordance with the bank’s lending policies.
    • Guide customers through application requirements and help prepare necessary forms and documents.
    • Submit and track applications while regularly updating clients on the progress and any policy changes.
  • Customer Onboarding & Relationship Management
    • Facilitate the onboarding of new mortgage clients.
    • Maintain effective communication with customers post-onboarding to ensure satisfaction and continued support.
    • Address and resolve queries and complaints efficiently, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Sales & Marketing Initiatives
    • Conduct branch-level home loan marketing campaigns.
    • Participate in country-wide marketing drives to promote mortgage offerings.
    • Attend promotional events and activations, turning leads into active clients.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Create and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports.
    • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data security standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records.
  • Network Building
    • Build and nurture referral networks, including developers, real estate agents, and existing clients.
    • Leverage partnerships to enhance client acquisition and business growth.
  • Compliance & Operational Excellence
    • Uphold internal policies and industry regulations in all mortgage-related transactions.
    • Achieve excellence in operational rigor to ensure successful audits and risk management.
    • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and responsibility in handling sensitive customer data.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a similar mortgage or financial services role
