Branch Manager, Lodwar Branch
Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, Nairobi Environs, the Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, growth and profitability of the branch and implementation of an efficient and effective Operational, Risk Management, Customer Service and Sales Culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, grow and monitor branch liability and asset portfolios with the ultimate aim of ensuring that the branch remains profitable, competitive and promptly reacts to the changes in both the internal and external environment.
- Contribute to and take a proactive role in the strategic direction of branch business. This will include ensuring that the Bank’s objectives relates to the branch in particular and the bank in general are met.
- Customer Experience: Monitor and Manage customer complaints in a timely manner, constantly review service delivery standards and position staff in a way, which ensures maintenance of the highest service standards.
- Forecast, plan implement and monitor all branch sales, cost and expenditure activities within set budget and proactively and promptly device remedial actions to minimize the variances between the budget and actual performance.
- Organize and manage the available branch of human and physical resources. Coach, mentor and develop a high performing team. A key ingredient being inculcation of a performance management framework.
- Overall Management of the Branch to ensure superior service offering to all bank customers, reduction of operating cost by ensuring efficient utilization of Branch Resources and elimination of frauds and losses through implementation of first class Branch governance through adherence to set policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate all bank and branch activities and liaise with Regional Office and other departments for all branch requirements.
- Ensure high audit standards in the branch and prompt resolution and closure of audit issues
- Entrench Digital Financial Services in our everyday customer service by migrating customers to other channels like mobi, internet banking, agents, and merchant’s pay bill /till services.
- Enterprise-wide Risk Management; -Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Credit policy prudential guidelines, combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to mitigate against losses, frauds, forgeries, and regulatory penalties’.
The Person
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
- A University Degree from a recognized university.
- At least 8 years’ experience in general banking
- At least 4 years’ experience as a Branch Manager in a middle level Branch.
- Experience in Sales dealing with High Networth Clients.
- Experience in Credit Analysis and administration.
- Experience in Bank operations covering Cash Management, Clearing, Accounts and Administration.
- Demonstrated consistent high performance in role(s) held in the last three years
- A thorough knowledge of Retail Banking products and services, and extensive Banking Industry knowledge.
- Excellent high quality interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to network and develop strong business relations
- A good understanding of risk, credit policies and procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competences in championing high performance management.
- Excellent planning, organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
