Position: Oncology Tutor
Main Purpose of the Position
To deliver quality teaching to students and produce qualified, professional oncology nurses.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Coordinate learning activities within the Paediatric Oncology program.
- Provide both theoretical and clinical instruction to students to ensure full mastery of oncology nursing skills.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ academic and clinical performance to maintain instructional standards.
- Contribute to the development and review of curricula in line with Nursing Council of Kenya requirements.
- Conduct theory and practical assessments as well as evaluate students’ assignments and learning progress.
- Maintain clinical capabilities by engaging in regular clinical practice and committing to personal professional development.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, clinical audits, and research initiatives to continuously improve training standards.
Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Higher National Diploma in Oncology/Paediatric Oncology Nursing or its equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year working experience as a tutor
- Certification as a TVET instructor is desirable and considered an added advantage
- Possession of a certificate in any paediatric resuscitation skills is an added advantage
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Practice License
- Current NCK Registration Certificate
