Position: Oncology Tutor

Main Purpose of the Position
To deliver quality teaching to students and produce qualified, professional oncology nurses.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Coordinate learning activities within the Paediatric Oncology program.
  • Provide both theoretical and clinical instruction to students to ensure full mastery of oncology nursing skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ academic and clinical performance to maintain instructional standards.
  • Contribute to the development and review of curricula in line with Nursing Council of Kenya requirements.
  • Conduct theory and practical assessments as well as evaluate students’ assignments and learning progress.
  • Maintain clinical capabilities by engaging in regular clinical practice and committing to personal professional development.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, clinical audits, and research initiatives to continuously improve training standards.

Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Higher National Diploma in Oncology/Paediatric Oncology Nursing or its equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year working experience as a tutor
  • Certification as a TVET instructor is desirable and considered an added advantage
  • Possession of a certificate in any paediatric resuscitation skills is an added advantage
  • Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Practice License
  • Current NCK Registration Certificate
