Job Summary:
The Legal Officer I will be responsible for providing legal advisory services, legal representation, legislative drafting, and regulatory compliance to support the Office of the County Attorney. This role involves offering legal counsel to the county government, ensuring that county operations adhere to statutory and constitutional frameworks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and opinions to the County Executive and other county departments.
- Represent the County Government in courts and tribunals.
- Draft and review contracts, leases, MoUs, and other legal documents to ensure the protection of the County Government’s interests.
- Assist in the preparation and vetting of legislative proposals, bills, and county legal instruments.
- Monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations within county operations.
- Assist in the development and review of county policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement forums to provide legal perspectives on governance issues.
- Maintain a legal database and ensure proper documentation of legal records.

The Legal Clerk Assistant III will provide administrative and clerical support to the legal team at the Office of the County Attorney. The position is crucial in ensuring smooth internal legal operations through efficient document handling, filing, and case tracking.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain legal files and records for easy retrieval and reference.
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence as instructed by legal officers.
- Serve legal documents and liaise with process servers, law courts, and other institutions as required.
- Record court dates, deadlines, and maintain a proper calendar of legal tasks and hearings.
- Support in gathering, reviewing, and compiling legal evidence and exhibits for court use.
