Qualification
Education, Skills & Experience
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, or a related field.
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Master (Unlimited) – issued in accordance with the STCW Convention.
- Minimum sea service of 5 years at sea, with at least 2 years in command of seagoing vessels
- Understanding of national and international maritime regulations, especially those governing maritime training institutions.
Key responsibilities also include
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for Malindi Maritime Academy and all maritime training programs.
- Serve as the contact person on maritime practices and safety within the training academy.
- Responsible for delivery and assessment of all maritime academy programmes ensuring adherence to the regulator’s standards and other established practices.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and maritime regulations during training.
