The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory government agency mandated to regulate and develop Kenya’s capital markets. As part of its mission to promote a transparent, secure, and efficient financial environment, the Authority seeks to enhance its communication outreach and stakeholder engagement. In line with this objective, CMA is pleased to announce an exciting temporary opportunity in its Corporate Affairs and International Relations Department.

Job Description

The Temporary Assistant – Corporate Communications will work under the supervision of the Manager, Corporate Affairs and International Relations. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Authority’s digital communication initiatives, creating engaging multimedia content, and assisting with social media strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development
    • Create visually appealing and engaging multimedia content (images, videos, graphics, and text) tailored for various digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to gather ideas and requirements for content such as videos, infographics, and other visual assets.
    • Write creative, impactful captions and copy that align with the Authority’s voice and strategic communication objectives.
  • Social Media Management
    • Monitor all CMA social media platforms and work closely with the communications team to ensure timely responses to audience inquiries and comments.
    • Proactively track and analyze audience engagement (including comments, messages, and mentions), particularly those concerning capital markets and the Authority. Escalate relevant issues to the Corporate Affairs and International Relations team as needed.
    • Schedule and publish content using social media management tools, ensuring a consistent posting rhythm and strong digital presence.
    • Manage a content calendar to ensure strategic and ongoing audience engagement across platforms.
  • Brand Consistency
    • Ensure all published content adheres to CMA’s branding guidelines, maintaining a consistent tone, look, and feel across platforms.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in video editing and graphic design, with familiarity using Adobe Creative Cloud considered an added advantage.
  • Experience in using professional video and photography equipment.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a communications or public relations department, or an advertising agency, will be an added advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
