1. Engineer – Regional Support Core Network

Location: Nakuru

Department: Technology – Converged Service Operations

Job Summary:
The Engineer – Regional Core Network Support will be responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of the Core Network infrastructure within the region. This includes support, maintenance, and timely escalation of any faults within the regional packet core and circuit-switched networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first-level and second-level troubleshooting and support of Core Network nodes in the assigned region.
  • Ensure proper documentation, escalation, and resolution of network incidents.
  • Execute planned maintenance and upgrades of network nodes with minimal service disruption.
  • Perform real-time monitoring of KPIs and suggest improvements for network performance and quality.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams and vendors for issue resolution and upgrades.
  • Provide regional support during project rollouts and system expansions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of network topology, configurations, and changes.

2. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Enterprise Integration Support

Location: Kenya

Job Summary:
The SRE – Enterprise Integration Support role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of Safaricom’s enterprise integration platforms. You will work closely with development and operations teams to automate and improve system health and manage integration processes for enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support deployment and monitoring of enterprise integration platforms and services.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous integration and delivery.
  • Monitor system reliability and performance, and proactively address bottlenecks.
  • Develop automation tools and scripts for routine tasks.
  • Collaborate with software developers and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform capacity planning and disaster recovery testing for integration services.
  • Support production deployments and post-deployment monitoring.

3. Site Reliability Engineer – CRM Support

Location: Kenya

Job Summary:
The SRE CRM Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the CRM systems are highly reliable, scalable, and available. This role involves continuous monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization of Safaricom’s CRM applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CRM application health, usage, and system logs.
  • Resolve incidents and troubleshoot issues across development, test, and production environments.
  • Automate operational tasks for CRM support, including backup, configuration, and patch management.
  • Work closely with CRM development teams to integrate reliability features and ensure code quality.
  • Participate in change management, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Document operational processes and maintain runbooks for incident response.
  • Analyze incidents and recommend long-term solutions for recurring problems.

4. Site Reliability Engineer – CVM Support

Location: Kenya

Job Summary:
The SRE CVM Support role involves ensuring the Customer Value Management (CVM) platforms and applications are running optimally. This role focuses on maintaining operational excellence and ensuring smooth execution of customer campaigns and related platform functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CVM platforms for reliability, availability, and performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
  • Ensure seamless execution of marketing campaigns through the CVM systems.
  • Develop automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in deployments and ensure production readiness of CVM systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and support processes.
