Position Overview: Senior Manager – Clients & Industries

As a Senior Manager in the Growth Office, your role will center on client portfolio leadership and industry-focused marketing to propel Deloitte’s presence and profitability across East Africa.

This role is critical to advancing Deloitte’s client service model, optimizing key account strategies, and nurturing high-performing teams that are built to exceed expectations.


Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role:

You will be responsible for designing and executing business development strategies for key clients and industries, tracking market trends, and optimizing our firm’s market positioning. You’ll collaborate with client teams, leadership, and marketing functions to deliver a cohesive approach to growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for growth across priority clients and industries.
  • Lead the firm’s largest client relationships through strategic account planning and execution.
  • Conduct extensive market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
  • Drive ROI analysis and strategic prioritization in client and industry investment areas.
  • Design and deliver persuasive business development presentations and marketing materials.
  • Lead end-to-end proposal development, ensuring competitive and compelling responses.
  • Align with Deloitte’s global client experience program to ensure consistent client satisfaction measurement and management.
  • Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate strategy effectiveness and adapt where necessary.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and represent Deloitte at key industry forums.
  • Provide strategic leadership to your team, fostering mentorship and ongoing professional development.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management within a professional services setting.
  • In-depth understanding of the East African economic and business landscape.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and ROI.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an innovation-driven mindset.
  • High-level proficiency in proposal writing and stakeholder presentation.
  • Strong coaching and mentorship capabilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • 6 years’ experience in the service industry, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen or otherwise eligible to work in Kenya.
  • A Master’s degree is considered an added advantage.
