This is a senior, high-impact role tasked with leading the development and execution of the Foundation’s programs and partnerships strategy. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a vital role in sustaining and growing the Foundation’s influence through strategic collaboration, efficient program management, and robust stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
As the Manager – Programs & Partnerships, you will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of community development programs while nurturing strategic alliances and securing resources for long-term sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Strategic Partnerships & Resource Mobilization
- Develop and execute partnership strategies in alignment with the Foundation’s mission and long-term goals.
- Identify, approach, and cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and funding agencies (including corporates, government, NGOs, and multilateral institutions).
- Lead proposal development and grant applications to secure funding and technical support.
- Represent the Foundation at strategic meetings, forums, and stakeholder engagements.
2. Program Oversight and Operational Leadership
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Foundation’s initiatives, ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and delivering measurable impact.
- Provide leadership in managing the day-to-day operations of key institutions including the Mabati Technical Training Institute (MTTI) and Mabati Medical Centre (MMC).
- Ensure alignment of institutional programs with broader community development objectives.
3. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordination
- Lead and coordinate the organization’s CSR initiatives, ensuring they are impactful, sustainable, and well-integrated with the core business values of Mabati Rolling Mills.
- Ensure CSR projects adhere to high standards of planning, execution, and community engagement.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Develop and implement systems for tracking program outcomes and assessing impact.
- Generate detailed reports with actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Share learnings and success stories to promote transparency and accountability.
5. Communication and Advocacy
- Design and implement communication strategies that enhance the visibility of the Foundation’s work.
- Engage with media, partners, and the public to build awareness and support for community programs.
- Position the Foundation as a thought leader in sustainable community development.
6. Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary teams to achieve project and institutional goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Build internal capacity to scale operations and programs effectively.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of community development, donor engagement, and operational excellence. You bring both visionary thinking and practical execution to the table.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Business Management are an added advantage.
- 8–10 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years in roles focused on partnership development, resource mobilization, or donor relations.
- Previous experience in the NGO/Foundation sector and proven ability to work with corporate, government, and multilateral stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
