1. Office Assistant – 2 Posts
Grade: KMAG 10
Terms of Service: Pensionable, with medical cover
Remuneration:

  • Basic salary: Kshs. 22,000.00 – Kshs. 49,000.00
  • House allowance: Kshs. 10,000.00
  • Commuter allowance: Kshs. 12,000.00

Job Purpose:
The Office Assistants are responsible for general routine office services to support smooth operational efficiency. These services include cleaning, messengerial duties, preparation and serving of tea, and handling simple logistical support tasks within the Authority.

Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Cleaning offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus to ensure sanitary working conditions for staff and visitors.
ii. Collecting and disposing of waste appropriately in compliance with cleanliness standards and environmental considerations.
iii. Dusting offices and maintaining a tidy work environment that promotes employee health and productivity.
iv. Moving or carrying office equipment and furniture, ensuring that workspaces are organized and functional.
v. Dispatching internal and external correspondence including letters and parcels, maintaining proper tracking and timely delivery.
vi. Arranging meeting venues professionally and punctually, ensuring that meetings commence without logistical hitches.
vii. Keeping inventory of kitchen equipment to ensure availability of resources and proper asset management.
viii. Preparing and serving tea to staff and visitors, adhering to hygiene protocols and hospitality standards.
ix. Performing additional office and messengerial duties as may be assigned from time to time to support administrative operations.

Person Specifications:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
i. Have attained at least a mean grade of D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
ii. Demonstrate proficiency in both English and Kiswahili to effectively communicate and carry out instructions.
iii. Possess good interpersonal skills, with a courteous and cooperative attitude when dealing with colleagues, supervisors, and guests.
