The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59 (4), Chapter fifteen of the Constitution and the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011 with the mandate of addressing all forms of maladministration in the public sector
in Kenya. The Commission is also charged with overseeing and enforcing the implementation of the Access to Information Act, 2016.

The responsibilities for this role will include:
- Issuing and receiving books and publications to and from users.
- Compiling statistics and maintaining accurate records of borrowed books.
- Assisting library users in locating reading materials using the appropriate library systems and tools.
- Handling general user enquiries related to library services and resources.
- Registering new users into the library management system.
- Conducting searches within the digital or manual database for specific materials.
- Sending reminder notices to users for overdue publications.
- Updating the library catalogue to reflect new acquisitions and returned materials.
- Shelving new and returned books in accordance with classification protocols.
- Ensuring the library shelves are neat and that materials are filed correctly.
- Assisting users in navigating the database and retrieving digital or physical information resources.
- Grouping and organizing information materials using standard classification and cataloguing systems.
- Manning the circulation desk and ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes.
- Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

- Driving assigned official vehicles to authorized destinations as required by the Commission.
- Detecting and reporting mechanical issues and faults of the vehicle in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Carrying out routine service checks and ensuring scheduled maintenance of the vehicle.
- Ensuring the safety and security of the vehicle, passengers, and goods during all transport activities.
- Maintaining an accurate and updated work ticket for every official journey made.
- Conducting routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling system, oil levels, electrical system, brake system, and tyre pressure to ensure roadworthiness.
- Reporting promptly any malfunction or defects that arise in the course of vehicle use.
- Ensuring full compliance with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
- Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
