1. Interventional Radiologist – Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu

Location: The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu

Overview:

The Interventional Radiologist will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services. This role involves collaborating with medical teams, interpreting imaging studies, and performing a wide range of minimally invasive procedures to enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (X-rays, ultrasound, CT, MRI) with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Independently perform interventional procedures, including image-guided biopsies, abscess drainages, and tumor ablations.
  • Evaluate patient medical histories to determine appropriate procedures and treatment plans.
  • Ensure procedural safety and adherence to radiation safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including risk counseling, informed consent, and follow-up coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and skills development.
  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance, audits, and clinical research.
  • Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings for integrated patient care.
  • Promote evidence-based, cost-effective imaging practices across the hospital network.

2. Academy Fellow – Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa

Location: Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa
Institution: Aga Khan Academies

Overview:

The Academy Fellow will contribute to both the academic and residential life of the Academy. This unique, immersive role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking to mentor students, support academic programming, and foster community engagement through service-learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Residential Parent, helping guide students in their personal and academic development.
  • Supervise and support students in the dormitory, ensuring a positive and safe residential experience.
  • Provide academic tutoring for 10 hours per week in subject areas of personal expertise (priority subjects: Math, Science, English as an Additional Language).
  • Develop and deliver the Service-Learning Programme for Years 6–10 (approximately 10 hours/week), including planning, partnership development, facilitation, and mentoring of student-led projects.
  • Serve as a Mentor for a small group of students, providing social and academic guidance.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, such as coaching sports, offering music lessons, leading clubs (e.g., debate, MUN, TEDx, gardening), and guiding university applications and SAT prep.
  • Chaperone off-campus activities, including educational day trips and visits to places of worship.

This role does not involve formal classroom teaching but requires meaningful academic engagement with students.


3. Dental Surgeon (Locum) – Bungoma & Kakamega

Location: Bungoma and Kakamega Outreach Centres
Institution: Aga Khan Health Services

Overview:

We are seeking qualified locum Dental Surgeons to provide comprehensive dental services at our outreach health centres. The role requires commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient consultations to assess dental health concerns and symptoms.
  • Prescribe diagnostic tests and treatment plans, including surgical procedures when required.
  • Perform emergency and non-emergency dental procedures with clinical precision.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient interactions and treatment outcomes.
  • Counsel patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with consultants and specialists in managing complex dental cases.
  • Assist in reviewing and refining dental care policies to align with best practice standards.

4. Customer Service Manager – Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu

Location: The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu

Overview:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Customer Service Manager will lead initiatives to foster a culture of service excellence throughout the hospital and its extensive outreach network. The successful candidate will champion the voice of the customer and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership

  • Formulate and implement service excellence policies and strategies across all facilities.
  • Conduct customer service assessments and spearhead intervention measures.
  • Serve as the primary custodian of the AKHK Customer Service Charter.

Service Delivery Oversight

  • Ensure patients receive exceptional care and service throughout their hospital journey.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., Turn-Around Times) and produce reports to guide decision-making.
  • Lead the planning and execution of events aligned with national and international health observances.
  • Coordinate regular customer satisfaction surveys and analyze findings to inform strategy.

Customer Feedback Management

  • Oversee management of complaints and ensure timely resolution.
  • Establish robust systems to monitor, document, and respond to patient feedback.
  • Organize forums for direct patient and community engagement.

People and Team Development

  • Build staff capacity through structured service excellence training programs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and guide interns, telephone operators, and customer service officers.

Performance and Reporting

  • Track customer service performance indicators and report regularly to hospital leadership.
  • Lead the implementation of improvements based on key performance trends and analytics.
