Alupe University, established under the Alupe University Charter, 2022, is among Kenya’s newest public universities. With a mission to be a bastion of knowledge in Science, Education, Business Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, Human Resource Development, Tourism, and Hospitality, the University seeks to expand its workforce by recruiting highly qualified, committed, and visionary individuals to fill a wide range of academic and administrative positions.

Pursuant to Part III of the Alupe University Charter and Part XV of the Alupe University Statutes, the University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:


Administrative Positions

  1. Grounds Man – Grade 2
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Mowing lawns and trimming hedges across university grounds
    ii. Planting, watering, and maintaining flowers, trees, and shrubs
    iii. Cleaning walkways, roads, and open public areas
    iv. Collecting and disposing of garden waste and debris
    v. Assisting in landscaping and general beautification efforts
    vi. Supporting messengers and clerical officers with logistics tasks
  2. Clerical Officer II – Grade 5
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Receiving and registering mail and incoming documents
    ii. Updating and maintaining record books and files
    iii. Filing correspondence and maintaining registry indexes
    iv. Typing and processing routine documentation
    v. Preparing internal distribution of documents and files
    vi. Retrieving files and documents as requested
  3. Senior Clerical Officer – Grade 7
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Supervising and mentoring junior clerical officers
    ii. Coordinating registry activities and documentation
    iii. Managing file movement and storage schedules
    iv. Receiving, dispatching, and updating official records
    v. Generating clerical reports for administrative units
    vi. Maintaining inventory of records and forms
  4. Secretary – Grade 7
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Typing, formatting, and proofreading routine documents
    ii. Organizing files and confidential documentation
    iii. Scheduling meetings and appointments

    v. Maintaining minutes and reports from meetings

  5. Executive Secretary – Grade 11
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Managing the office calendar of the Vice Chancellor

    iii. Drafting confidential and official correspondence
    iv. Recording and distributing minutes for high-level meetings
    v. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
    vi. Receiving and directing high-level visitors
  6. Senior Farm Assistant – Grade 8
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Overseeing crop and animal production operations
    ii. Coordinating use of farm inputs and resources
    iii. Supervising farm staff and ensuring task completion
    iv. Implementing modern farming techniques and schedules
    v. Preparing periodic farm activity reports
    vi. Enforcing farm safety and operational guidelines
  7. Assistant Mortician – Grade 4
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Receiving and identifying deceased individuals
    ii. Embalming and preserving human remains
    iii. Cleaning and preparing the mortuary for operations
    iv. Assisting pathologists during postmortem examinations
    v. Documenting mortuary activities and updating logs
    vi. Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety protocols
  8. Driver – Grade 5
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    i. Transporting university staff and materials
    ii. Maintaining daily vehicle logs and mileage reports

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  15. Accounts Assistant – Grade 6
