MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Madison Life Assurance Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Madison Group Limited, is a well-known provider of life assurance, group schemes and pension administration in Kenya. The Group also provides through two other subsidiaries, general insurance underwriting as well as fund management services.
The Company is recruiting for the position Management Accountant reporting to the Chief Accountant. The job holder will be based at its Head Office in Madison House, Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts for review with explanations and variances.
- Generation and distribution of production report as per the agreed timelines.
- Compiling and submission of quarterly and annual returns to the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA).
- Maintain an accurate Fixed Asset Register and ensuring all records are up to date.
- Develop financial budgets and forecasts to support planning and decision making.
- Produce and share monthly branch profitability reports and departmental management expense reports
- Preparation of monthly management expense variance reports including comprehensive explanations.
- Compile and present financial information for Board Reports.
- Provide weekly performance snapshots on Production, claims and expenses.
- Design and maintain a dashboard for monthly performance tracking.
- Ensure revenue assurance through continuous monitoring and analysis.
Academic and Professional Qualifications required
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognized institution.
- Be a CPA (K) and a Member of ICPAK in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

- Knowledge in regulatory framework and requirements.
- Technical accounting knowledge.
- Basic understanding of life insurance business.
- Excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills.
- Self-driven.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Proficient in financial systems (preferably SAP), advanced excel and financial modelling.
