Position Description
We’re seeking a Senior Market Research Consultant to lead advanced market research and strategy analysis focused on location intelligence, route-to-market strategies, staffing models, and operational efficiency.
You’ll design and execute research projects that help clients identify where to grow, how to grow, and what resources they need to get there. Your insights will guide market entry, expansion, and optimisation strategies for clients in diverse sectors.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design and implement custom market research studies across multiple African markets.
- Conduct route-to-market (RTM) assessments, channel mapping, and competitor benchmarking.
- Use data to advise optimal locations for new branches, stores, or offices.
- Recommend business models based on demographics, purchasing power, and competitor analysis.
- Evaluate internal operations to suggest optimal staffing structures and workflows.
- Lead both desk-based research and field team coordination (as needed).
- Deliver insights in clear, actionable formats (slide decks, dashboards, reports).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Strategy, Economics, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in market research, strategy consulting, or commercial analytics.
- Strong background in location-based analysis, RTM strategy, and operational modelling.
- Proficient in designing research instruments (quantitative & qualitative) and using insights to drive business recommendations.
- Experience working in African markets is required.
- Bonus: Familiarity with GIS tools, market segmentation software, or demand forecasting models.
