1. Policy Analyst – Advocacy and Systems Strengthening

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Reports to: Senior Manager, Policy
Deadline to apply: 29th June 2025

As Policy Analyst – Advocacy and Systems Strengthening, you will be at the forefront of policy change, advancing school feeding as a national and regional development priority. Your work will include building coalitions, coordinating advocacy campaigns, and influencing systems to sustainably deliver school meals to children.

Key Responsibilities:

Advocacy and Coalition Engagement

  • Coordinate and actively contribute to the National School Meals Coalition and technical working groups.
  • Represent F4E in key national, county, and regional multi-sectoral platforms.
  • Build partnerships with actors in education, health, agriculture, social protection, and related sectors.

Systems Strengthening

  • Support government partners in improving governance and implementation of school meal programs.
  • Deliver capacity building and sensitization on systems transformation and policy advocacy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop institutional frameworks for sustainable school meals.

Campaigns and Communications

  • Design and run advocacy campaigns that boost awareness of school feeding.
  • Document impact stories and strategic wins in collaboration with the Communications team.

Strategic Positioning

  • Help position F4E as a thought leader in school feeding policy and governance.
  • Identify emerging policy opportunities and shape national/regional discourse.
  • Support planning and execution of strategic events.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in advocacy, policy, or systems work in sectors such as education, health, or agriculture.
  • Deep understanding of Kenya’s devolution and governance structures.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to lead campaigns, strategies, and coalitions.
  • A passion for equity, nutrition, and food systems transformation.
