Position Title: Public Service Intern – Digital Literacy Programme

This internship offers a rich, hands-on experience in integrating ICT within primary and secondary education systems. Interns will work under the guidance of Sub-County Education Officers and support school-level implementation of digital learning programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Public Service Intern under the Digital Literacy Programme, you will be expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- E-Learning Support and Content Development:
Assist in the support and development of e-learning resources aligned with school schemes of work. - Training and Classroom Support:
Provide technical and practical support to school teachers on the use of digital literacy devices and conduct training sessions to build teacher capacity. - Implementation of Digital Literacy Programme:
Support the overall implementation and roll-out of the Digital Literacy Programme at the sub-county and school level. - Innovations in Digital Learning:
Initiate and support innovations that enhance digital learning practices in schools. - Ethical Use of Technology:
Promote and support safe, secure, and ethical use of technology among learners and teachers. - ICT Integration in Teaching and Learning:
Help teachers integrate ICT tools in the delivery of instruction, classroom assessments, and learning support. - Policy and Procedures Development:
Assist school staff in the drafting and production of critical school policies and procedures relating to ICT. - Technical Support:
Provide first-line ICT support, including basic troubleshooting, maintenance of ICT services, and ensuring functionality of learning devices in schools.
Requirements for Appointment
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have graduated not earlier than 2020.
- Must possess one of the following academic qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Information Communication Technology (ICT); or
- A Bachelor’s degree in ICT from a recognized institution or its equivalent; or
- A Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Additionally, applicants must demonstrate:
- Knowledge in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security, and project management.
- Ability to integrate ICT with Education, particularly in the areas of e-learning and content development.
- Strong research and innovation skills that can support the goals of the Digital Literacy Programme.
- Willingness to be deployed full-time to a Sub-County Education Office.
