Job Description:
The Credit Control Officer will play a critical role in managing and recovering outstanding debts from patients, insurance companies, and corporate clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely billing and effective follow-ups, while maintaining compliance with internal healthcare finance policies and external financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient, insurance, and corporate client accounts for overdue payments.
- Follow up on outstanding balances through calls, emails, and formal communications.
- Liaise with insurance companies and third-party payers to resolve payment delays and discrepancies.
- Ensure all billing is done accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date records of collection activities and payment agreements.
- Prepare reports on account status, including aging reports and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the finance and revenue cycle teams to optimize cash flow.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with sensitive patient and financial data.
- Recommend bad debt write-offs or legal action where necessary, in line with organizational policies.
