1. Information Communication Technology Officer (Systems Administrator) – 1 Post
Terms of Service: Permanent
Basic Salary: Kshs. 41,420 – 57,230 per month (Job Group K / CSG 10)
Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)
The ICT Officer (Systems Administrator) will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure operation of the institution’s ICT infrastructure. The officer will be expected to:
- Carry out systems analysis, design, and programme specifications in liaison with users
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain ICT systems
- Ensure adherence to established ICT standards
- Supervise the installation, certification, repair, and maintenance of ICT equipment and associated peripherals
- Recommend and supervise hardware and software specifications for ICT equipment
- Evaluate and recommend suitable ICT equipment for the institution
- Perform system security audits and monitoring
- Carry out daily security backups and restores
- Maintain CCTV systems, telephone lines, and internet services
- Provide technical assistance to end users on hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Develop and implement backup strategies to safeguard critical data
- Manage database servers while ensuring data availability and security
- Undertake any other duty assigned by the Council Secretary/Chief Principal
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Information Communication Technology
- Mathematics and Computer Science
- Information Science
- Business Information Technology
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- Linux Professional certification
- CompTIA A+ certification
- Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certification
- At least three (3) years of working experience in an institution of learning or a similarly busy environment is an added advantage
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
