The Collaborative Centre for Gender and Development (CCGD) is a national NGO committed to promoting gender equality, children’s rights, and social inclusion in Kenya. As part of our commitment to child protection and care, we are seeking passionate and qualified individuals to join our team at the CCGD Child Care Centre located in City Park, Parklands, Nairobi County.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

  • Childcare Administrator
  • Care Givers (4 Positions)
  • Cook
  • Cleaner

Position: Childcare Administrator

Location: City Park, Parklands – Nairobi County
Reports to: Program Coordinator, Child Protection and Care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate duties to child care staff and monitor task execution.
  • Supervise staff performance and conduct periodic performance appraisals.
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records.
  • Oversee meal and snack preparation, ensuring nutritional standards are met.
  • Design and organize educational and play-based activities for older children.
  • Develop structured daily schedules to support children’s growth and consistency.
  • Maintain child records, including developmental progress and behavioral notes.
  • Serve as a communication liaison with parents and contact them in emergencies.
  • Prepare regular progress and financial reports for stakeholders and partners.
  • Uphold hygiene and cleanliness standards across play and rest areas.
  • Execute other administrative or caregiving tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), Child Development, Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with 2 years in a supervisory or administrative role.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience with children aged 0–4 years.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and gender-sensitive childcare.

Position: Care Givers (4 Positions)

Location: City Park, Parklands – Nairobi County
Reports to: Child Care Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nurturing care and supervision to children during parent work hours.
  • Monitor outdoor play and ensure safety at all times.
  • Assist in implementing engaging curricula to support holistic child development.
  • Report any unusual behaviors or incidents to the Program Officer or parents.
  • Ensure children’s supplies (clothing, diapers, etc.) are available and replenished.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in formal child care, daycare, or as a professional nanny.
  • Familiarity with age-appropriate learning and development practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a deep passion for early childhood care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and nutritional needs of young children.
  • Adaptability in dynamic child care environments.

Position: Cook

Location: City Park, Parklands – Nairobi County
Reports to: Child Care Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan food budgets with the Administrator and manage kitchen inventory.
  • Prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals for children.
  • Maintain punctuality in meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor and replenish kitchen stock and utensils as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Properly store food and ingredients according to safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is an added advantage.
  • 1–2 years of cooking experience in institutions (e.g., schools, daycare centers).
  • Ability to plan nutritious meals for young children.
  • Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation.
  • Experience operating various kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Position: Cleaner

Location: City Park, Parklands – Nairobi County
Reports to: Child Care Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, including furniture and toys.
  • Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean waste management system.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and assist in restocking them.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all washrooms, ensuring availability of toiletries.
  • Sanitize food prep areas to meet hygiene standards.
  • Support general cleanliness of the childcare facility.
  • Perform any other cleaning duties as delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma (KCSE).
  • 1–2 years of experience in cleaning roles, preferably in childcare or institutional settings.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain cleanliness under time pressure.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
