The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is a state corporation established under the Tourism Act No. 28 of 2011 with the mandate to market Kenya as a premier tourist destination locally, regionally, and internationally. KTB is now inviting applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:


1. Assistant Deputy Director, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization

Grade: 4
Vacancies: 1

Job Description:
The Assistant Deputy Director, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to identify, engage, and manage partnerships and funding opportunities that support KTB’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement resource mobilization strategies aligned with KTB’s strategic goals.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and funding opportunities from government, development partners, private sector, and other stakeholders.
  • Initiate and manage donor engagement plans to sustain long-term funding relationships.
  • Develop proposals and concept notes to solicit support for key initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on partnership activities, donor contributions, and program impact.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of partners and funding sources.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to align partnership activities with institutional goals.
  • Represent KTB in resource mobilization forums and partnership meetings.

2. Assistant Deputy Director, Business Tourism and Events

Grade: 4
Vacancies: 1

Job Description:
This position is tasked with leading the strategy and execution of business tourism and events (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions – MICE) in line with KTB’s tourism promotion goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to position Kenya as a leading MICE destination.
  • Coordinate and support the bidding process for international events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to attract and host international conferences and exhibitions.
  • Promote Kenya’s capacity and infrastructure to host business events.
  • Support MICE tourism operators with tools and information for competitive service delivery.
  • Monitor global trends in business tourism and provide insight to adapt local strategies.
  • Lead campaigns and promotions targeting business travelers and event organizers.
  • Facilitate partnerships between local and international business tourism players.

3. Assistant Deputy Director, Business Development, Tourism Product and Place Brands

Grade: 4

Job Description:
This role involves developing and managing initiatives that drive the growth and diversification of Kenya’s tourism products and enhance the visibility of place brands under KTB’s mandate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification and packaging of tourism products that appeal to different market segments.
  • Drive the development and promotion of thematic tourism circuits.
  • Collaborate with counties and other partners to enhance destination branding efforts.
  • Conduct product audits to ensure alignment with market needs and expectations.
  • Propose and support public-private partnerships in tourism product development.
  • Champion sustainability and inclusivity in tourism product innovation.
  • Align tourism product development with KTB’s marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of tourism products and place branding initiatives.

4. Marketing Officer, Regional Market

Grade: 6
Vacancies: 1

Job Description:
The Marketing Officer, Regional Market will support the execution of marketing and promotional activities in regional markets to enhance destination awareness and travel to Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans targeting regional markets.
  • Coordinate regional campaigns, roadshows, and trade fairs.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including travel agents, media, and airlines to promote Kenya.
  • Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity within the region.
  • Support digital and traditional marketing efforts in the regional context.
  • Prepare reports on the effectiveness of regional campaigns and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with regional tourism stakeholders.
  • Support public relations activities in target regional markets.

5. Public Relations Officer

Grade: 6
Vacancies: 1

Job Description:
The Public Relations Officer is responsible for enhancing KTB’s public image through effective media relations, communication strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement public relations strategies aligned with KTB’s branding.
  • Draft press releases, media kits, speeches, and other PR content.
  • Organize media briefings, interviews, and press conferences.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local and international media.
  • Monitor media coverage and public perception of KTB and the tourism sector.
  • Coordinate crisis communication in line with established protocols.
  • Support the development of internal communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to ensure consistent messaging.

6. Marketing Officer – Social Media

Grade: 6
Vacancies: 2

Job Description:
The Marketing Officer – Social Media will be responsible for managing KTB’s social media presence and leveraging digital platforms to promote Kenya as a preferred travel destination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Create, curate, and schedule engaging and brand-consistent content.
  • Monitor, track, and report on key performance indicators across digital campaigns.
  • Engage with online audiences, respond to inquiries, and manage feedback.
  • Collaborate with content creators, influencers, and partners to amplify campaigns.
  • Stay updated with social media trends and integrate innovative strategies.
  • Ensure all social media activity aligns with the broader marketing strategy.
  • Support live coverage of events, launches, and promotional initiatives.
