Company Procurement Manager

Braeburn Schools Limited is looking to recruit a Company Procurement Manager to lead centralized procurement functions across the organization. This pivotal role involves managing both local and international sourcing, ensuring cost efficiency, policy compliance, and strategic supply chain alignment across all Braeburn schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:
    • Develop and implement centralized procurement strategies across the company.
    • Ensure consistency in sourcing quality goods and services from both local and overseas suppliers.
    • Identify new suppliers and manage tender processes to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Policy Development & Compliance:
    • Create and enforce procurement policies, ensuring alignment with company values and legal requirements.
    • Provide guidance and oversight to procurement activities at the school level, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate strong partnerships with both local and international vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts and service agreements, ensuring favorable terms and quality standards.
  • Financial Management & Reporting:
    • Develop and manage procurement budgets.
    • Monitor procurement performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with senior leadership, school heads, and finance teams.
    • Support end-users in procurement planning and vendor selection.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Professional qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management (e.g., CIPS, KISM) is essential.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience with international trade and import logistics.
  • Strong command of Kenyan procurement law and international sourcing practices.
  • Advanced negotiation, contract management, and supplier development skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire procurement teams.
  • Excellent communication, financial acumen, and policy development capabilities.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical sourcing practices.
