Manager, DFS Risk and Controls – Digital Financial Services Division
Reporting to the Manager, Risk and Compliance, the job holder is responsible for implementation of risk & compliance tools, coordination and follow-up update of risk registers, compliance assessments, Business Continuity execution and tracking of Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) for the division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation of risk and compliance tools, and coordinate with Product Managers to ensure updating and providing returns/reports in the defined frequency. This includes tracking and reporting on risks for ongoing DFS projects.
- Track execution of PIRs for DFS products are completed & closed.
- Prepare and collate data for the Unclaimed Financial Assets return.
- Track, promote and prepare reports on AML compliance & and implementation of KYC controls in the division.
- Support Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery and quarterly testing of the Disaster Recovery (DR) site.
- Document and validate all exceptions and write offs noted from control activities.
- Support line manager to improve on external and Internal Audit performance through preparation of trend analysis of common audit issues, proactively addressing common audit issues and tracking resolution/retargeting of audit.
- Requisition and monitor Bulk SMS consumption for MNOs for both KCB and the subsidiaries.
- Support and manage risks through embedded process of proactively Identifying, assessing, mitigating, controlling, monitoring and reporting all events that have risk exposure potential within DFS unit.
- Support timely closure of risk and compliance issues arising from DORCCO in liaison with the line manager.
- Support continuous documentation, review and update of policies and standards operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Support divisional requisitions, track and settlement of vendor invoices.
The Person
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, including specific experience in the following areas:
- Risk and compliance management
- Banking operations &/or administration
- Audit experience is an added advantage
- Conversant with emerging technologies and new digital business models.
- Interpreting business requirements into meaningful technical functionalities.
- Working with cross-functional & multi-cultural teams
- Strong communication skills and skilled in reporting, and presentation to C-level stakeholders
- Self-driven and results focused.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to execution
