Senior Risk Consultant– Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The primary objective of the Senior Risk Consultant is to manage operational functions of risk-based business schemes and clients within the Risk Consulting Division. The role demands a strategic mindset, leadership in risk services delivery, and the drive to consistently meet or exceed financial targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Risk Consultant will be expected to:
- Team Leadership & Strategic Oversight
- Act as the team leader within the Risk Management department, providing strategic guidance and supervision to team members.
- Offer leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of risk activities.
- Risk Management Delivery
- Deliver comprehensive risk management solutions, including identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and treating or controlling risks tailored to client needs.
- Coordinate and execute risk management assignments for clients across various sectors.
- Risk Consulting Services
- Provide a broad array of risk-related consulting, such as:
- Risk profiling
- Loss prevention programs
- Insurance risk surveys
- Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks
- Business continuity planning
- Provide a broad array of risk-related consulting, such as:
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit site visit reports and risk assessment documentation promptly and professionally.
- Revenue Generation and Budget Performance
- Drive revenue generation for the division in line with set targets in the annual budget.
- Monitor and report on performance relative to financial goals.
- Leadership of Committees and Tender Submissions
- Serve as the Chairperson of the Risks & Controls Committee, guiding organizational risk discussions and compliance reviews.
- Lead or support the preparation of technical documentation and risk-related submissions for tenders, including those related to broking.
- Regional and Internal Support
- Support regional Minet offices in implementing and improving their risk programs.
- Offer technical guidance and quality assurance to ensure consistency across locations.
- Talent Development
- Coach, mentor, and manage the Risk Consulting Services (RCS) team.
- Oversee performance management and training initiatives to enhance capabilities within the team.
- Product Research and Innovation
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of innovative risk management products and services.
- Additional Duties
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or executive leadership.

Knowledge and Skills Required
Applicants must bring the following knowledge and technical skills:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Risk Management or Risk Consulting.
- A deep understanding of international risk frameworks and risk management practices.
- Familiarity with insurance products and services applicable to diverse client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant data management tools.
- Ability to maintain and manage client and project databases effectively.
Professional and Academic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Risk Management or a Diploma in Insurance.
- DOSHS approval in at least one category is a plus.
