This role is based in Nairobi and will report directly to the Team Leader, Direct Sales.
Role Purpose
The Direct Sales Officer will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of directly selling medical insurance products to new clients. The role involves identifying prospective customers, delivering tailored medical insurance solutions, nurturing leads, closing deals, and maintaining post-sale client relationships. It requires a results-oriented approach combined with a customer-first mindset, ensuring seamless experiences for every policyholder while adhering to Jubilee’s standards and compliance frameworks.
Detailed Job Description
Business Development Responsibilities
- Actively identify and target new clients through field visits, cold calling, and relationship-based marketing.
- Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline of qualified leads using a structured follow-up approach.
- Conduct in-depth client assessments to recommend appropriate medical insurance products for individuals, families, or SMEs.
- Deliver persuasive sales pitches aligned with clients’ needs and financial capacities, highlighting unique product benefits and services.
- Organize and participate in targeted outreach activities, including health fairs, community events, and exhibitions to boost brand visibility.
- Prepare client-specific proposals and competitive quotations while addressing client queries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor offerings, and consumer behavior to enhance sales strategies and inform product positioning.
Operational Duties
- Conduct follow-ups on open leads, nurturing relationships through continuous engagement until the sale is finalized.
- Maintain comprehensive records of client interactions, quotations issued, and feedback received via CRM tools or manual logs.
- Submit completed sales documentation such as Know Your Customer (KYC) forms, application forms, and medical declarations promptly and accurately.
- Monitor and report on personal sales performance metrics daily, weekly, and monthly to the Team Leader.
- Educate clients on policy terms, including benefits, provider networks, limitations, and the use of digital platforms for service access.
- Facilitate onboarding of new clients to ensure a smooth transition from lead to policyholder.
- Work closely with the operations team to resolve service-related issues and expedite policy issuance processes.
Corporate Governance and Compliance
- Uphold the highest levels of compliance with Jubilee Insurance policies, Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) guidelines, and ethical sales practices.
- Ensure full disclosure of policy terms, including limitations, exclusions, and underwriting processes before concluding any sale.
- Protect the confidentiality of client information in accordance with internal policies and prevailing data protection legislation.
- Promptly report any fraudulent activities, mis-selling incidents, or breaches of policy to the appropriate internal authorities.
- Attend and participate in all mandated compliance and ethics training sessions as required by the company.

Academic Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance, or a closely related discipline.
- Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in insurance practices.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct sales experience, preferably in the insurance, banking, or broader financial services sector.
