We seek to recruit a qualified and experienced individual to join our dynamic team in the position of a Procurement Officer.
Responsibilities
• Evaluate the cost, quality, and suitability of materials, equipment, and services based on purchase requisitions.
• Receive and scrutinize purchase requests to ensure accuracy and completeness of specifications and approvals.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs); coordinate clarifications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Receive and evaluate quotations, select vendors based on set criteria, and negotiate where applicable.
• Generate and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) for approval, filing, and dispatch.
• Track and follow up on LPO deliveries and address any delayed or overstayed orders.
• Maintain an efficient inventory and stores management system, ensuring accurate cost allocation per division.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve any procurement-related disputes.
• Conduct supplier visits for pre-qualification, quality checks, or work-in-progress (WIP) verification.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Prepare periodic procurement reports and maintain procurement records for audit and management review.”
Academic Qualifications, Work Experience, and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A diploma in Procurement and Supplies from a recognized institution will also be considered.
• Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., KISM, CIPS) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of five (5 years’ relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management in a reputable organization.
• Sound understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and financial procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Successful candidates should Fulfill the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution, and should present valid clearance certificate from KRA, HELB, EACC, Credit Reference Bureau and Kenya Police clearance.
