Job Description – Waiters/Waitresses
As a Waiter/Waitress at KABU, your primary role will be to ensure guests and clients experience professional, courteous, and timely service during dining and banqueting occasions. You will be responsible for handling everything from table settings to order management, and ensuring all service points meet high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the restaurant and dining area by arranging table settings, décor, and supplies.
- Welcome guests, present menus, and take accurate food and beverage orders using established service protocols.
- Deliver food and drinks efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Clear tables and carry dirty dishes, cutlery, and cups to the cleaning area.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area throughout the service period.
- Ensure a consistently high level of customer service by being friendly, professional, and attentive to guest needs.
- Assist in coordinating banqueting events, including setting up buffets, table service, and post-event cleanup.
- Ensure all activities conform to the University’s Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety Regulations.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or managers as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Service.
- Must possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Proven work experience of at least two (2) years in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Computer literacy and ability to use digital systems for order management will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure, especially during busy service periods.
